TOUR
5
Mabuasehube Kalahari - Safari
This route leads us into a remote area of the Kalahari Desert. You
will be one of only a few visitors who will get the chance to see
this unique and very beautiful wildlife reserve. The Mabuasehube
Game Reserve is next to the Kgalagadi Transfrontier National Park.
There are no fences between the parks, so that the game can migrate
freely along the natural trails as since thousands of years ago.
This means that large quantities of game can be found in this area.
Due to the presence of abundant prey, the predators are not too
far. Lions, cheetahs, leopards, spotted and brown hyenas, lynx and
wildcats.
TOUR PROGRAM
Day 1:
We leave Upington early in the morning, and drive via Twee Rivieren
- entrance gate to the Kgalagadi National Park - across the border
to Botswana and drive up to Rooiputs. Here, in the wild, we set
up camp. Facilities in all Botswana camps are very basic. Each campsite
has an A-frame shade construction, long drop toilet, mostly NO water.
Camping in the wild of the Kalahari with NO protective fencing.
Nothing to worry about though, as you’ll have a well-experienced
tour guide who can handle the situation.
Enjoy dinner around the fire while listening to the typical Kalahari
sounds of the night. Don’t be surprised if you hear the call of
a Kalahari lion, hyena or black backed jackal during the night.
Overnight stay: Camping
at Rooiputs.
